This painting of the Verrazano Bridge seen from Bensonhurst was conceived just the same year as the artist had arrived in the United States. Firstly he was inspired by everything and the novelty of America was reflected in every one of his canvases. Turneresque dramatic skies make this striking composition noticeable.
