Painting of a funeral of Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexi 2. The subject was inspired by the idea of Russian art collectress Tamara Tretyakova, who collected one of the artist's landscapes and heavily influenced him by her religious views. Painting is characterized by extensive use of raw umber, ultramarine, and black color in its dark shadows and accents of greenish-white on highlights.
