Artwork Description:
This Still Life with Apples and Pears borrows from Paul Cezanne's tradition. Nicholaas Chiao was greatly impressed by the work of a French impressionist master in his student years and produced several works under his influence. This painting is a later version of canvas created just the same year the artist entered the Academy of Arts in Minsk.
